The conditions at construction sites in Sweden are different compared to China according to the Swedish Health and Safety Inspector, in Sweden you have to follow rules about protective clothing and how construction sites are built up with safety barriers and fences.

At the construction site everyone must wear approved safety helmets with built in protection for eyes and ears, and the construction workers must also wear work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps.

Due to old test certificates authorised service and testing are required to some of the dumper and digger machines used at the construction site, until then the machines are put out of service.

The test certificates can be renewed at a test station based close to the construction site as soon as the machines are serviced by a mechanic.

In conclusion the Safety Inspector states that if Swedish rules are not followed at the construction site, the building of the Chinese Exhibition Centre will have to be closed down.

Directives from the Swedish Health and Safety institute

On a building site in Sweden is it a number of rules that shall go together. In order to continue build the exhibition centre in Kalmar, we need to follow these rules. The health and Safety officer is threatened to close down the building site if we don’t take action. Their are five safety measures they want us to solve before we can continue building at the site and judgment is the following.

Our workers need to wear proper work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps. There are boards with nails in them all over the building site and heavy bricks that they can drop on their foot.

You can’t let anyone without a hardhat work at a building site in Sweden its compulsory here. The hardhat needs to be an approved safety helmet. The best think we can do is to get some helmets that have built-in ear muffs and mesh to cover the face.

We also got strict directions about fences and safety barriers. People can hurt themselves, even if they only fall a few metres. Everywhere we start to build higher than ground level their need to be fences and safety barriers.

The health and Safety officer looked at our diggers and found out that the certificates had run out. He said we can’t use them before they’ve been to service and tested. He also told use to take them to an authorised mechanic, because there was some kind of leak in he hydraulic system.

According to our Health and Safety executive, your working environment has a few faults that we would like for you to look into or else we will be forced to shut down your business.

Your workforce seems to need proper working boots suitable for the environment that they are working in, since they are now wearing trainers which can cause numerous accidents.

The safety paragraph also states that safety helmets are to be used whenever on construction site, which means that they are not an option but they are mandatory.

The safety helmets will preferably contain built in protectors for both ears and eyes in order to prevent severe injuries.

Our executive would also like for you to raise fences and safety barriers whenever you are building something that is higher than ground level, again to prevent accidents which, if they happen, can cause great difficulties for both your employees and your construction.

An inspector from The Health and Safety Executive visited the site yesterday and informed us that the Swedish rules need to be followed since we work in Sweden. Otherwise the site will face to be shutted down.

In case the workers are injured by unexpected accident, they need to have proper work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps instead of trainers.

The inspector emphasized that whenever anyone who enters into the construction site is compulsory to have a safety helmet on.

To prevent the audition of our workers from the noise, he insisted that they should wear ear protectors.

The test certificates of three diggers and one dumper truck are expired. Therefore we have to send them to the test station and have service done immediately.

Swedish regulations have to be respected in order to keep the site from being closed down.

Work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps are vital to prevent the risk of injury to the workers.

Hard hats are mandatory at all times on the construction site.

In accordance with safety regulations safety barriers and fences must be raised wherever construction work is being done above ground level.

All vehicles used in and around the construction site need regular maintenance and must have valid test certificates to be allowed on the site.

According to the Health and Safety Inspector there are rules and regulations for the workplaces in Sweden that have to be followed in order to keep working and avoid being shut down.

It is required that the workers wear proper work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps, and safety helmets to avoid injuries. The helmets should have built-in ear protectors due to the high noise levels and the workers should wear masks to cover their faces.

When building above ground level one is obliged to put up fences and safety barriers of proper height to secure the workers from falling.

Also, several excavators and dumper trucks seem to be defect and have invalid certificates and must therefore be checked and inspected before they can be utilized again.

Yesterday an Health and Safety Inspector visited us and made five recommendations that we have to follow or they will close the building site.

First workers must wear proper work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps.

Then hardhats are compulsory during the all construction.

Susequently helmets that have built-in ear muffs and mesh to cover the face are sorely recommended.

Moreover according to safety swedish rules the height of fences and safety barriers must be controled wherever we start building above ground level.

Finally plants must be tested and checked by an authorised mechanic.

Regarding the construction of Exhibition center in Kalmar, we received some recommendations about working condition and safety from Swedish Health and Safety Executive.
In order to retain the worker's working condition and safety in Sweden we must follow Swedish rules if we do not follow the construction site will be closed down compulsory. The following are details of recommendations which needs to be improved immediately.

All workers at the construction site must wear work boots with reinforced soles and toe caps.

Everyone at the construction site must use an approved safety helmet. The optimum condition of the helmet is with ear muffs and a mesh to cover the face.

Fences and safety barriers of the building above ground level is mandatory at the construction site.

Plant must be checked by an authorised mechanic and need to be certificated.

We have just been inspected by the Swedish Health and Safety Executive, who are very concerned with the working condition which causes numerous problems for the future constructions. These problems must be dealt with if the project is to be continued. Here below follows the recommendations made by the inspector.

First of all the workers are required to be provided with proper work boots, with reinforced soles and toecaps and safety helmets with built-in ear muffs. Further fences and safety barriers with the correct heights are compulsory, whenever building occurs above ground level. Finally the diggers and dumper trucks certificates must be renewed before further usage.

It is of out most importance that we get these problems sorted out immediately or they are forced to close the building site down.

According to the Swedish Health and Safety Executive, Swedish law claims that worker on building sites in Sweden:
 need to wear proper boots with reinforced soles and toecap to prevent occupational injuries caused of dropping heavy material on the feet or step on sharp items,
 need to wear hardhats all over the building site area constantly to prevent accident caused by violence against the head,
 need to use ear protectors to protect the hearing preferably built-in ear muffs in the hardhats, and
 need to protect their eyes against sparks and splinters preferably with a hardhat equipped with a mesh to cover the face.

Building activity above ground level needs fences and safety barriers of proper heights to prevent fall accidents.

Vehicles and plants used in the building work needs to be taken to service regularly to up date the test certificate, due to Swedish law.

First of all it is absolutely necessary for us to follow the Swedish rules and regulations, and we do have some things we need to adjust as soon as possible.

The workers will need proper workboots with rienforced soles and toecaps to avoid injuries while working on the building site.

We also have to supply the workers with new helmets, and to give them the best protection the new ones should include built-in earmuffs and a mesh to cover their faces.

When we start building above ground level we have to secure the building site with sufficient fences and safety barriers, and book us up for an emergency meeting in the next few days.

All vehicles must be carefully controlled, look for expired certificates and get them checked upp by an authorised mechanic.

Due to strict rules and regulations at construction areas in Sweden, we have to adjust some things to be able to continue legally with our project in Kalmar..

Due to heavy lifting of sacks of cement, girders and bricks at the construction area and the consequences that can appear, we are now asking for proper working shoes with reinforced soles and toecaps for our employees.

In Sweden it is compulsory to wear hardhats on construction areas.

Since we also need ear protecters we would like to recommend that we recieve helmets with built-in ear muffs.

We also have been told that the certificate of three of our diggers and a dumper have run out, which means that we have to get them checked by an authorized mechanic or we are not admitted to use them anymore.

According to the Health and Safety Inspector Swedish rules and regulations must be followed at the building site located in Sweden. To avoid having the construction site closed down following directives must be handled.

To minimize the risk of injuries by unexpected accidents, construction workers must wear work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps.

Safety helmets are statutory on the building site for both construction workers and visitors. Recommended is that they also have built in protection for ears and eyes.

To prevent accidents safety barriers and fences must be raised at areas where construction is done above ground level.

Authorised service and testing are required for a number of the machines used on the construction site. As soon as the test certificates has been renewed the machines can be used as usual again.

The Exhibition centre in Kalmar have been inspected by the Swedish Health and Safety Executive, during the inspection of the construction site they found several items that needs to be corrected in order to continue with the construction.

First of all we need to supply our workers with the right uniform; a proper working boot with reinforced soles and steel-toe is a must, second is that all workers must ware a protective hardhat during the entire time attending the site.

Do to the noise level at the building site the inspector recommend that all workers should wear ear protectors, the best solution would be to buy hardhats with build-in ear protectors that also come with a protective cover for the face.

The Swedish Health and Safety Executive also have strict laws about construction above ground level, do to that we immediately need to apply fences and safety barriers at the required areas to prevent accidents and unnecessary damage at the site.

Subsequently we have several machines where the certificates has run out and in order to legally use them on a daily basis they are required an inspection, both at the nearby test site and by an authorised mechanic, we will hopefully be able to secure these problems an be up and running as soon as possible.

We have been contacted by the Swedish Health and Safety Executive. Here are 4 things we have to do so they do not stop our work:
• Every worker that works on the site needs proper work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps.
• Every one that visits the site needs a safety helmet. We have found one model of helmet with built in ear muffs and mesh to cover the face and that will cover the noise level too.
• We need to build fences and safety barriers when we start to build above ground level.

Firstly, all personnel on site need to wear work boots, with reinforced soles and toecaps, to protect themselves from potentially hazardous working conditions and to comply with the Swedish Health and Safety regulations.

All personnel as well as visitors need to wear hard hats to protect themselves from falling objects.

It is recommended that all employees subsequently use hearing protection and a face-protecting mesh to further shield themselves.

Swedish regulations also state that all construction sites above ground level need the appropriate fencing and safety barriers to avoid accidents.

Finally, three diggers and a dumper truck have inadequate certificates and are therefore not to be utilised before they have been given an approved test certificate by an authorised mechanic.

The construction workers will have to have boots with reinforced soles and toecaps.

Both workers and visitors need to be wearing an approved safety helmet.

Due to safety regulations there must be fences and safety barriers when building above ground level.

The vehicles within the construction area needs to have approved certificate, otherwise the vehicles will be put out of use.

According to the Health and Safety Executive in Sweden, rules and regulations must be followed in order for us to continue our work on the exhibition centre in Kalmar. To avoid being closed down we need to adjust to these rules.

All workers at the construction site must wear proper work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps to avoid injuries when doing heavy lifting and when walking around the construction site.

Everyone on the construction site, workers as well as visitors, must wear an approved safety helmet. Even if the noise level is normal, it is still recommended that those helmets are equipped with ear muffs and a mesh to cover the face.

To minimize the risk of having people falling down when building above ground level, it is very important that there are safety barriers and fences around the construction site.

All vehicles and machines must have a valid test certificate in order to be used at the construction site.

The working conditions that our employees in Sweden are under are not meeting the Swedish standards and regulations whereas the Swedish Health and Safety Inspection are now threatening to close the work site unless we make some improvements. The adjustments that we need to make entails providing the workers with work equipment and clothes in order to improve their safety and reduce the risk of injuries occurring. Such equipment includes providing proper work boots, safety helmets and ear protectors. The health and safety inspection also insist on rigging of fences and safety barriers as well as having machinery certified by an authorized mechanic. These adjustments need to be attended to before the 15 of April or the site will be forced to shut down.

Directives from the Swedish Health and Safety Institute

Companies placed in Sweden have some directives to fallow concerning health and safety. We have discovered that you have broken health and safety in your job site. We want to point up these directives you break and fix them so you can continue building up the exhibition centre in Kalmar.

Employees who have a physical work with heavy lifts needs special shoes. This is very important if they will slap these heavy things on the fetes they could have damage for life. Proper work shoes shall be wearing of these employees.

The employees at the site must be wearing an approved safety helmet to avoid that object will fallow down at the head from ladder scaffolds and compare.

To save the employees hearing they must wear something to protect the hearings when they work at the site. Our advice is to have build-in muffs in the helmets they have to wear.

Safety when the employees working at heights are mainly important even if it is just a few meters. To get the employees safe at heights you obtain fences and safety barriers.

The Health and Safety Inspector brought to our attention to some of the differences in the rules and regulations of our two countries and he expressed quite forcefully that certain regulations had to be adapted immediately or he would have to close down our work site.

Firstly, the safety equipment for our employees, they must wear hard hats, work boots, with reinforced soles and toecaps as well as ear protection. The Inspector recommended a hard hat with built-in ear muffs and a mesh to cover the face.

Secondly, the security measures at the site, we need to erect fences and safety barriers around the site itself as well as marking any holes in the ground with fences.

Thirdly, our machines need to be serviced and tested since at least three of them have test certificates which have expired.

The rules and regulations from the Swedish Institute of Health and Safety have to be followed in order to not jeopardize this project, and being forced to shut down.

Boots with reinforced soles and toecaps, hearing protection and approved safety helmets are compulsory workwear on a Swedish construction site.

There must be fences and safety barriers of proper height when building above ground level, to avoid the risk of anyone falling down.

The test certificates of some of the machines that are being used are out of date. They have to be tested and preferably also checked by an authorised mechanic before they can be taken into service again.

As a result of a controle realised by Health and Safety Executive, it appears that Rules and Legislation according working conditions are different in Sweden from China. In order the site not to be close, the legislation must be followed.

The workers on the site must be equiped of specific work boots, with reinforced soles and toecaps for their security, instead of unprotected wearing trainers due to numerous accidents which could happen.

For working on the site, it is obligatory to wear approved safety helmet. Without this helmet, nobody can enter on the working site.

Due to the noise level, the inspector advised us to make our workers equiped of ears protectors inside the helmet, and to use mesh to cover the face, it's a security issue.

It appears that three diggers and a dumper trucks have a certificate which has expired. Theses materials must be controlled and check by an authorised mechanic, otherwise they won't be allowed anymore on the working site. Moreover, it is important to check that there are fences and safety barriers of the proper height everywhere around ground level before the beginning of the building.

Warm up 3 - Malin Bundsen

Corresponding to the Swedish health regulations there are some rules that needs to be or your workplace will be shut down. Proper work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps as well as hard helmets with built in protectors is mandatory for the employees at all times. Furthermore you need to construct hences where you build over ground level. The test certificate on three of your excavators and tow trucks are expired and needs to be renewed. These regulations are developed to prevent workers from accidents and needs to be followed, or we will have to shut down your construction site.

In order to protect the worker’s condition here in Sweden there are health and safety rules and regulations that must be followed. There are various breaches of these rules and regulations at the Exhibition Centre in Kalmar. These must be remedied immediately or we will be forced to close down the site. The regulations in question are as follows:

• Appropriate work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps must be worn at all times.

• Approved Safety helmets are compulsory and nobody is to be permitted on to the site unless they are wearing one. This applies to both workers and guests.

• In order to protect hearing it is advised that you order helmets with inbuilt ear protectors.

• In order to meet Swedish standards fences and safety barriers of the proper height must be put up. This applies even to small drops of a few meters.

• There are three excavators and one dumper truck that do not have valid test certificates; these must not be used until their test certificates are renewed. There is a test station near to the site and an emergency appointment can be made. It will also be necessary to have them checked by a mechanic as their hydraulic systems may be leaking.

Warm-up 3

Apparently the rules and regulation regarding work conditions in Sweden are quite different from those we are used to in China. According to the Health and Safety Inspector Department we must instantly complied with these Swedish work conditions or we will have to disrupt the construction of the exhibition centre. Following directives must instantly be handled.

According to Swedish rules and regulations regarding work conditions all employees ought to wear an approved safety helmet when entering the building site.

The safety helmet must include built-in ear muffs that protect the ears from all the noise pollution on the building site. It should also include a mesh that can cover the workers visage.

In accordance with safety regulations the fences and safety barriers must be high enough so that they can ensure that people do not fall and hurt themselves while working above ground level.

It is vital that we counter change our workers trainers to proper work boots with reinforced soles and toecaps to prevent the risk of injury.
